Jaromír Typlt
Born in 1973 in Nová Paka, Czech Republic, he is a poet, performer, and essayist with a focus on Art Brut. He studied Czech Studies and Philosophy at Charles University in Prague, completing his studies with a doctorate on Czech surrealist poetry. In 2026, he defended his dissertation in Comparative Literature on the subject of »écrits bruts.« (Warm congratulations!)
He has worked, among other roles, as a curator for the »Galerie Art brut Praha« and for a non-profit organization supporting people with mental illness. Numerous volumes of his poetry have been published since 1990, most recently »Pouzdří« (Argo Verlag, 2025).
He will be one of the guest authors at the 2026 Frankfurt Book Fair, where the Czech Republic is the Guest of Honour. (Pictured left, with Dirk Hülstrunk during a joint performance at the Romanfabrik in Frankfurt am Main, May 2026.)
