Ingke Günther studied art education and art history at Justus Liebig University in Gießen and graduated as Magistra Artium in 1998. Since then, she has been active as an artist with actions in public space. Her primary interest is in everyday cultural phenomena within things, words and events. In addition to her visual works, which focus on the written word, she is also involved in the performative design of situations and installations, which take place both indoors and outdoors and more on the peripheries. She enjoys working as a duo with Jörg Wagner as well as in the »gärtnerpflichten« (gardener's duties) group, which is an interdisciplinary collective. She enjoys curating the participatory watering can museum and also makes the lines of connection to art visible here. She is a member of the »Deutscher Künstlerbund« and is represented with actions, projects and exhibitions at home and abroad. Ingke Günther lives and teaches in Gießen.
