Ingo Pohl
Ingo Pohl has lived in Berlin (East) since 1956 and has been writing for many years; his work moves in a style all of its own, blending rhyme, reflection and wordplay.
Between 1973 and 2022, he worked as an excavator operator and civil engineer and—following the end of the division of Germany—miraculously found himself working as an IT administrator in a large architectural firm.
»Zeilenmanagement« is his first officially published book, following two previous privately printed works.

»Merely inspired by the things of life,« as Ingo Pohl puts it, he discovered the rhymed word for himself. The fact that his rhymes would eventually baffle those around him—and ultimately capture the sincere interest of a publisher—surprises him most of all, he adds.
His playful approach to language, which pays little heed to conventional rules, reveals a keen ear for the sound and rhythm of the written word—and offers recurring moments of astonishment, brimming with irony and gravity, lightness and contemplation, extending even to quieter—indeed, philosophical—moments. At times perhaps reminiscent of Busch—though in any case, there is always something afoot.
Small mistakes are better than none;
and he who acts takes pride in his own—
sometimes, if only for himself alone.
